[New!] ACTHD – Primary and Acute Care data linkage project consultation group

Closing date: Wednesday, 15 May 2024

ACT Health Directorate (ACTHD) is looking for two consumers to join the ACT Consultation Group for the Primary and Acute Care Data Linkage Project.

What’s the project about

In Australia, health data is spread out across different organisations, making it hard to understand patient care, especially as patients transition between primary care (like general practitioners) and acute care (like hospitals). Connecting primary care data with hospital records would provide a better idea of how patients move through the healthcare system.

Some states have already started projects to link health data, such as NSW’s Lumos initiative, which integrates primary, ambulatory, and acute care data. The primary acute care data linkage project is working on a national plan to gather all this information together. Which will help with understanding patients’ journeys and make healthcare decisions that benefit everyone.

What’s the Commitment?

As part of the project each state and territory will have its own consultation group to bring together key stakeholders and experts to provide insights, guidance, and recommendations for the successful implementation of National Primary and Acute Care Data Linkage project.

You will need to attend up to 10 two -hour meetings over 12-months, dates, and times to be confirmed. The consultation group starts in May 2024.

They are looking for consumers with:

  • Knowledge of what consumers needs and expectations within the ACT and experience in advocating on behalf of consumers.
  • Understanding of health data, uses and governance.
  • Understanding of the objectives of the project and of data linkage

Selected consumer representatives will be reimbursed for their time.

To express interest, email Dr. Anne Jenkins at [email protected] by 15 May 2024. Your email should include a current CV and a 250-word statement addressing the selection criteria and explaining why you are interested.
